Mia Weiner is in Berlin and won the juror award for the exhibition "Young Contemporaries" at the Hillyer Art Space gallery of International Arts & Artists. An interview and her work is in Peripheral ARTeries. Mia’s embroidery "Untitled (Armless)" was acquired by the Kinsey Institute Gallery for their permanent collection. The piece is also included in the show “Touchy Subjects: Art, Sex, and Humor” at the Indianapolis Art Center through November. She is also included in the show “London Calling 013” through Factory-Art Gallery during London's Frieze Art Week in October 2013.

Kristen Gibbs graduated from the certificate program at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) and will complete her undergraduate degree at University of Pennsylvania through PAFA and UPenn's combined BFA program. Kris received the John R. Conner Memorial Prize in Printmaking and the Henry C. Pratt Prize in Printmaking at PAFA and sold paintings in PAFA'S Annual Student Exhibition. She just finished a very rewarding internship teaching drawing and painting in a free after-school program for high school students in Philadelphia and is currently teaching at a preschool. She was also included in the Kennedy Center’s 12th Annual Infinite Earth exhibition of emerging artists.

John's winning dessert

John Hajash was one of 16 line chefs to take part in the Uchi’s Citywide 86’d competition in Austin and was named the champion winning a coveted week in New York staging with prestigious David Chang a noted chef and founder of Momofuku restaurant group. Ticket sales from the Citywide 86’d finale benefited The Wine and Food Foundation of Texas, a local nonprofit that hosts local food and wine events and funds culinary scholarships and grants.

Louise Parker was recruited fresh out of college to be a model in Hedi Slimane’s debut runway show for Yves Saint Laurent in Paris. She was also interviewed by i-D, a British magazine dedicated to fashion, music, art and youth culture.

Henry Nahurski and brother Frank Nahurski interpret Larissa Szporluk’s poem “Sunflower” from Traffic with MacBeth (Tupelo Press, 2011) in this most recent offering from Motionpoem. The poem has appeared in Ploughshares and Best American Poetry 2012.

Anna Krengel is in the 2013 Craft Tour that celebrates work that is miniature but monumental in it’s ambition, exploring memory, the human condition, the beauty of nature and objects of remembrance, with participating artists from the UK, Berlin, Japan and the USA. She just returned from the Northumberland, UK segment where she helped with installation, gave a talk and worked with local school children.
