Hats Off to OS35

Holidays and sickness have kept this post from being more timely, but no less full of love and good wishes! OS35 left Napa last week, after sharing some special memories and hopes for the future. Though their nickname, SOS(35), is wildly accurate, we will miss their humor a great deal - it always brightened ER visits and brought chuckles to even the most stressed times of semester. And when you work at a boarding school and are surrounded by people and work day in and day out, laughs are important! Luckily, these 42 shared many with us.

Of course, not every semester is all fun and games and OS35 navigated their own challenges with a great deal of self awareness and admirable growth. We at Oxbow are excited to see OS35 as (older) young adults in the near future - there's a lot of nascent maturity and good intentions in this group, and we will miss their penchant for heart-to-hearts.

We'll miss the 80's jams blasting in the breezeway, the long conversations on philosophy and politics, the Oxbow finsta, and even the infamous "Would You Rather" questions, and arguments over West B unfairly tying with West A for the Final Room Check.

For the locals - visit us soon! For the out of staters - enjoy your winters (HAHA).

Advice I would give to future students is to just do it and come to Oxbow and not overthink it because it will most likely (99.9%) be the best decision you have made in your life.

I have learned so many skills and habits that have made me a better person throughout my time here. To name a few: I have learned how to be a good roommate, how to communicate, and how to trust myself. I have learned the importance of staying hydrated, getting good sleep, and having a clean work space. I have learned how to share space both in the studios and dorms. Lastly, I have learned that it’s okay to advocate for what you need and that there is no harm in asking for help or support.
