I'm incredibly excited to rejoin my peers at Oxbow since my time in OS20. After leaving Napa, I attended the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, DC and graduated in 2013 with a BFA in Fine Art Photography. Throughout school I worked part-time at Morton Fine Art as a graphic designer and sales associate. Somewhat simultaneously, I was hired at Duhon Photography as a studio manager and photographer, and worked directly with the owner and lead photographer for 6 years.
In 2010, as a response to the emotionally and politically charged censorship of David Wojnarowicz' work during the exhibition Hide/Seek: Difference and Desire in American Portraiture at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, I co-founded the artist collective Boys Be Good. This collective was comprised of 12 artists from all backgrounds and areas of the country working in a variety of mediums and disciplines. I curated 3 large exhibitions, produced several publications and engaged the local community through panel discussions and performance art events. My time at Oxbow helped me to formalize my skills, both artistic and academic, and I am ecstatic to be able to facilitate that same opportunity for future generations at The Oxbow School.
