Rose Shipman is a Garden Intern for The Pioneer Project a new gap year program all about homesteading, craft, and wilderness education located in Brasstown in the Southern Appalachia of Western North Carolina. The schools guiding principals are: charity of purpose, empowerment and interdependence. She also wants to share with you the John C Campbell Folk School also in Brasstown, NC. The Folk School nurtures and preserves the folk arts of the Appalachian Mountains and was founded in 1925.

John Hajash was one of 16 line chefs to take part in the Uchi’s Citywide 86’d competition in Austin and was named the champion winning a coveted week in New York staging with prestigious David Chang a noted chef and founder of Momofuku restaurant group. Ticket sales from the Citywide 86’d finale benefited The Wine and Food Foundation of Texas, a local nonprofit that hosts local food and wine events and funds culinary scholarships and grants.
